Welcome to the last month of 2007!
This month’s top ten on the Orca site are all time bestsellers.. Our featured author is Chris McMahen—you may remember him from his guest blog entries in September. Chris’s first book with Orca, Klutzhood, came out this fall.
On the blog, Jacqueline Pearce, Melanie Jackson and Dinah Galloway have promised to make an appearance later this month.
And also new this month, Holly Bennet has contributed some beautiful photos of Ireland to the Readers section. The photos show real locations that are important in Holly’s novel The Warrior’s Daughter. Take a look!

It’s November! More leaves on the ground, more sweaters, and more new books and book launches!
This month the Orca site features our top ten picturebooks, and the featured author is Raquel Rivera, whose new juvenile novel Orphan Ahwak has just been published. Take a look!
And don’t forget to keep watching the blog for guest entries, launch photos, and news.

In Victoria, the leaves are starting to turn orange, and it’s getting just a bit colder. Fall is here… and so are a whole batch of new books! Browse the new releases on our website to see what’s hot off the presses.
This month’s featured author is Rachel Dunstan Muller. Her second book, Ten Thumb Sam, is new this month. Rachel told us about her fascination with magicians, and about how reader responses have changed the way she writes. Check it out.
Have you been watching Malone’s page? Orca’s favourite dog has been carefully making a list of her favourite books, and October’s Top Ten are Malone’s picks.
Authors are busy this month! Pat Skene made a great page about caves for our Readers section… and Monique Polak has a cool new website.
Guest Blogging is in full swing, too—you’ll see Darlene Ryan here next week, and Jacqueline Pearce and Anita Daher later in the month.
Whew, October is a busy month—and I haven’t even told you about the book launches yet! Keep checking this space to see the action unfold…

Back to school, back to work… September is beginning again, and that means a new featured author, a new top ten, and a whole new season.
September’s featured author is Caroline Adderson. Her first Orca book, I, Bruno, is coming out this fall. We interviewed her about reader responses and Harry Potter.
And this month’s top ten are, of course, back to school books. Time to start reading!
Later this month you can look forward to more guest blogging (did you read Monique Polak’s entries last week?) from authors like Eric Walters… see you in the comments!
Have a great September!

It’s a new month, and that means new things are popping up all over the Orca website…
August’s featured author is Darlene Ryan, author of Saving Grace and Rules for Life. Darlene has a third book with Orca, Responsible, coming out this October. Curious to know what kind of research goes into a young adult book? Take a look at the interview, in which Darlene reveals classified author trade secrets. (Well, okay, not quite…)
The top ten books for August are best-selling Orca Soundings. Check ‘em out.
Dog lovers should also take a look at Malone’s Page—her favourite book this week is Puppies on Board. (Last week it was Sea Dog. I think we’re starting to see a pattern here.)
And stay tuned for the new Teachers section, coming this week or next.
Enjoy the month!
