BC Book Prizes
Safe House, a novel about Northern Ireland by James Heneghan, has been nominated for the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize, part of the BC Book Prizes The BC Book Prizes will be presented in Victoria on April 28.
James Heneghan has also written Hit Squad and Torn Away and, wiith Bruce McBay, Waiting For Sarah, among other titles.
Booklist magazine said of Safe House: “Readers will be drawn by the fast action and the breathless escape adventure, but they’ll also respond to the politics of war in Belfast…True to the boy’s viewpoint, the betrayal and terrorism is very close, especially in the unforgettable images of what is lost. ”
